About IGF-1 LR3
IGF-1 LR3 (Long R3 IGF-1) is an 83-amino-acid analog of human insulin-like growth factor 1. It has an arginine in place of glutamic acid at position 3 and a 13-amino-acid N-terminal extension.
These changes greatly reduce binding to IGF binding proteins, which is why IGF-1 LR3 is widely used in cell culture and in research on IGF-1 receptor signaling.
